Friday is the day to think pink

AS A finale to cancer awareness month, islanders will be donning pink accessories and clothes for ‘Think Pink Day’ on Friday. Charities across the UK are encouraging businesses, schools and individuals to wear something pink to raise awareness of the condition.

One business participating is Wave Telecom. Its staff will be wearing pink wigs and clothes for the day.  ‘We are delighted to be supporting the Pink Ladies [the local breast cancer support group] once again,’ said Wave managing director Tim Ringsdore. ‘We raised more than £5,000 at Summer Wave and we are looking forward to adding to that amount on our “pink dress-down day”,’ he said.  Wave Telecom will also be selling Pink Lady wristbands and collection buckets will be placed in it outlets.
