Courts fashion show boosts the Pink Ladies. ISLANDERS will be seeing pink at a fashion show to raise money for a cancer support group.

Funds from Saturday's annual fashion show at the Royal Court House will go to the Pink Ladies.

Gillian Tidd from the group said: 'There is nothing glamorous about having breast cancer but what a fabulous way to raise money and awareness of this shattering disease in a stylish environment enjoying the latest fashion, hair and make-up trends.' It has been timed to coincide with that night¹s Playtex Moonwalk in London.  The Race for Life in Guernsey is held the next day.

Ticket holders will be greeted with a glass of pink champagne.

Retailers involved in the fashion show include Escape, Nautilus, Free Love, Sail or Surf, Josef of Switzerland, Little Miss Jones, Creaseys, Celaro and Trouteaud Opticians.

The grand prize draw is a major focal point of the evening and CMA Event Management has the goal of raising £2,000.

Raffle tickets are on sale on the night at £5 each and there are more than 20 prizes ranging from a hamper filled with beauty products to a Lulu Guinness bag and from a pair of Prada sunglasses to a bouquet of fresh flowers.

The event, organised by CMA, is staged annually and the funds donated to a different charity each year.

Suzanne Pontin of the organisers said that the Pink Ladies were a fantastic group of women.

The annual fashion show combines glamour and entertainment but with the primary objective of raising money for charity this year for the Pink Ladies here in Guernsey,' she said.

Breast cancer survivor Kylie Minogue has sent a signed copy of her new album X that will be auctioned on the night.

Tickets are £49 and include a glass of champagne, canapes and a personal goodie bag. They are available from Suzanne or Sophie at CMA Event Management on 246700.
