Sign up on the spot this weekend for Pink Ladies walk

CALLING all ladies who love to wear pink, enjoy a stroll along the coast and want to do their bit for charity. This year’s Pink Ladies’ Sunset Coastal Walk is taking place on Saturday 18 June and the local breast cancer charity group will be at two island locations tomorrow– St Peter’s Food Hall and Friquet Garden Centre between 10am and 4pm – to help people sign up for this popular fund-raising event.

First held in 2007, the initial walk attracted more than 2,000 participants of all ages and raised more than £100,000 for local breast cancer support.
Since then it has gone from strength to strength, providing funds to help the support group pay for locally available treatment for lymphedema, a side-effect of the disease.

Now the Pink Ladies – who celebrate their 10th anniversary this year and continue to offer advice, help and to raise awareness about breast cancer – are urging girls and women across the island to get involved once more.

The Guernsey Press is again media partner for the event, which this year has Sandpiper CI as its main sponsor.

Very much a fun occasion, it attracts women of every generation, including mums, daughters and grandmothers – although all children must be accompanied by an adult.

*  Watch out for more stories and updates about the walk in the Guernsey Press or visit our website at, where you can also download entry and sponsorship forms.
