Sunset Walkers have raised close to 80,000 pounds

ISLANDERS who stepped out for charity have raised almost £80,000. Organisers of the Pink Ladies Sunset Coastal Walk are thrilled with what they have raised so far and are keen to gather all outstanding sponsorship

Co-organiser Doreen Le Poidevin hopes to establish a final figure at the end of the month so half of it can be handed to Les Bourgs Hospice.

All the money will stay in the island, with the other 50% being retained by the breast cancer support group.

Mrs Le Poidevin is also urging those who took part to share with others the reason they took part. All comments will be added to the website.
‘We would really like to know what or who inspired you to take part,’ she said.

The walk attracted more than 2,000 women, and a couple of men, who took to the coastal paths around the north of the island on Saturday 20 June.
