Press article - Pink Ladies Car Boot Sale

Car-booters brave the cold for Pink Ladies MORE than 35 stalls filled Alliance car park on Sunday for the Pink Ladies’ car boot sale. Clothes, games, toys and cakes were some of the items on offer and the event raised £591.58.

Carol Dodd, from the breast cancer charity, said it had been a great event.

‘My son, Lee, is also doing the Great North Run in aid of the Pink Ladies,’ she said. Mr Dodd, 36, said he had done the run twice before and the charity was important to him because his mum has had cancer.
He was pleased with the turnout on the day.

‘There have been a lot of people today considering the cold weather,’ he said.

Mrs Dodd said there was a Pink Ladies’ stall and a huge Easter egg had been donated by Kerry at as a prize.

Fellow Pink Ladies members Amanda Brown and Sally Rowe helped on the stand. Mrs Brown said it was also about raising awareness. ‘It is lovely to see people supporting us,’ she said. ‘It is about saying there is life after cancer.’

Mrs Rowe also helped to make cakes for the occasion.
