Bridal group raises funds for the Pink Ladies

DRESSED to impress, a group of friends travelled to Herm and raised 1,200 for breast cancer support group the Pink Ladies.

Carrying donation buckets, the 24 women wore pink-themed wedding and bridesmaid dresses all around the island, which caught the attention of many passers-by.

It was organised by Katie Tostevin, who was inspired after reading womens magazine Bella. The Wedding Belles shop owner said every year the magazine featured women from all over the UK who had dressed up in wedding gear to raise money for the charity.

We thought we would give it a go because it would be fun and it is an opportunity for us to raise money for a good cause. We love doing stuff like this for charity, she said.

The group first had lunch at the White House before they paraded around the island with their charity buckets to try and collect as much money as they could. Mrs Tostevin said some of the women wore their own wedding dresses.

A hen party was also organised prior to the Herm trip, which raised more than 600. We are absolutely delighted and were really happy to be able to hand over 2,000 to the Pink Ladies, Mrs Tostevin said. They couldnt believe how much we had raised and we have already planned to do the same next year.
