Biking Bankers Raise Charity Cash

STAFF at NatWest took to two wheels to cycle their way around the island’s branches to raise money for charity. The first Guernsey ‘Tour des Branches’ was an idea copied from the bank in the Isle of Man.

‘Having seen how much fun the Isle of Man event was, I wanted to arrange our own Guernsey version,’ said relationship manager Stuart Butler.
‘Tour des Branches was a novel way to raise money for three important local charities while enjoying the beautiful coastline and I hope it will become an annual event.’

Charities to benefit from a share of the £2,000 it was hoped the event would raise were Les Bourgs Hospice, the Pink Ladies and Mug, the male cancer support group.

The group of 16 cyclists completed more than 20 miles, taking in branches at High Street, Royal Bank Place, the Bridge, Cobo, St Peter’s and St Martin’s on the way.
