Pink champagne for lucky Pink Ladies walk team

28/09/2011

A GROUP of women who took part in the Pink Ladies Sunset Coastal Walk were treated to afternoon tea at the Old Government House Hotel.

They were given the prize after their team, Bank of Bermuda, was picked out of a hat at the end of the fund-raising walk, which took place in June.

Team member Claire Dorey said it was brilliant to win the prize after completing the walk.

The team was made up of 10 former employees of the bank and their friends, but only eight were able to enjoy the prize.

Mrs Dorey had taken part in the cancer charity fund-raiser before and said the team were planning to do the walk again. It is a cause that is close to all of our hearts, its about women sticking together.

She said the atmosphere during the event had been great, despite the windy weather.

The women were also given a pick-me-up about half-way around the route when they stopped off at one of the groups houses and her husband brought out champagne and snacks.

The afternoon tea and pink champagne were provided free by the OGH Hotel.
